Frank J. Nikolet | Frank J. "Hick" Nikolet was born December 25, 1938 in Bridgeboro, New Jersey. He joined the US Air Force in 1956 and served actively until 1960 between the Korean and Vietnam eras, the Cold War era. He served as an jet aircraft mechanic for the 68th OMS Bombardment Wing of the Strategic Air Command in Louisiana, working on B-47 aircraft. He attained the rank of Airman 2nd Class E-3 and remained on reserve until 1962. He moved to Delanco in 1961 and went to work for Millside Farms in Delran, working as a dairy machine operator, later working for Abbots and Fort Washington. He married Mary Karmade of Delanco and Frank and Mary both became very active with Washington Fire Co No 1 and Ladies Auxiliary in Delanco. Mary was also active with the New Jersey String Band and helped create their uniforms. Mary played and coached softball.
